“The Ice Queen” by Alice Hoffman is a novel about a young woman whose life was scarred from the beginning. One day she grew angry and wished her mother would never come back. That night she was killed. Her life was changed forever. She became very quite and shut herself away from the world. One day she utters another wish and is stuck by lightning. This event sparked a strange a powerful new beginning in her. She felt frozen from the inside out and confides in fellow lightning survivors to share her story. She finds one in particular, Lazarus Jones, who turns out to be a perfect opposite for her. Yet, they both hide dangerous secrets from each other. She starts to come back to life and talk to those she has shut out, including her brother. This novel is the weirdest book i have ever read. Yet, it keeps you craving for more. I enjoyed to book very much!
